Now you need to tell what species is going to be in there!

Probably about 30 hours total. Nothing difficult, just some time consuming stuff.

30 hrs! I can't even build a single cage in that period.

I have another question. What lamp wattage are you planning on using in each cage? I'm toying with the idea I need to upgrade my electrical system for the reptile room due to so many lamps on at the same time and I'm looking for ideas.

Woohoo for crazy mother in laws! That's great, Jeff! I'm so pleased she went mad enough for you to get your enclosures built, fantastic!

Which lucky lizards are going in here? Will you have stacks upon stacks of shinglebacks, I wonder ...

I am using 40watt spot lights in each enclosure. If they are all at full power at the same time, that's 36 x 40 = 1440 total watts max. In reality though, the max wattage used at any one time will be much less than that.

All of my current breeders will go in these new enclosures, but I am not planning to add any new animals right away. I would love to have a few more, but for now, just having some extra space is a dream come true. If anything I can't turn down does turn up, I'm ready!

Looking really good Jeff. Just curious, what are the dimensions of each enclosure?

Thanks Mark. The dimentions on these are 30"x23"x 14"high (76cm x 58cm x 36cm high). They are more "square" than I would coose, but I started with some commercially made cabinets, and that was the size they came in that was closest to what I was looking for. They also come 40"x23" which would have been nice, but I couldn't fit enough of those in the room.

One nice thing about the way these are set up is that I can easily connect adjacent enclosures to make them 60"x23". That takes about 5 minutes to do.

That's a neat option Jeff, I bought an bunch of 2x2 visions last year with walkthroughs cut out in them. I didn't think I would ever need to use them, but it came in really handy being able to turn two 24 inch cages into a 48.

The enclosure I keep my shinglebacks in is (2)-3'x2' enclosures joined together. I actually like having the dividing wall in the middle better than if the space was wide open. It is a good sight barrier, and it makes it easy to seperate individual animals or groups.
