I have those ads running and actually appreciate folks (regardless of age) contacting to give recommendations to narrow down the identity of a specimen. I edited the ads quickly to correct them. Regardless, they are imported and sold commonly as irian jayas and gigas so if there is some resources to better identify them then perhaps a link to that information would be helpful. And never had the above mentioned happen with someone receiving something different from what was in an ad.

Lol! The problem is assuming that everyone who posts an opinion on this forum is a "pro". There is a huge variety of experience represented here. Most of the time there is not much disagreement at all among those who actually know what they are talking about. It is a constant frustration for some that there is not an easy way to separate the valid opinions from the others.

This is not the first time this happened. I imported some northern's from europe about six years ago and posted them as such and someone soon after emailed me and wrote that they were mixed or something was wrong with the way they looked. They came from some top skink breeder in europe but what can one do when there is no solid key on specimens such as this. For example, that yellow one has many folks here confused as to what it is, so if the pros have debate then how is some 50 year old dude with bad eyes going to figure it out especially when it trying to bite his hand off.

Lots of blueys are advertised incorrectly. Most people don't have the same level of obsession with them as us! Plus, lots of times the experts don't agree because there hasn't been a lot of research into the Indonesian blueys so the classification has some gray areas. You're right - not something you would know! This is not your fault and we really don't want to see anyone on this forum bad mouthing sellers - if there are any issues with what is being said, please let a moderator know. We always say that if there are issues, rather than complaining about a seller or badmouthing a company on here take it to the BOI. But a mislabelling / innocent mistake is not something to worry about - it happens lots. It is great that you are open to advice. Thanks for joining and posting, you're perspective is something we don't often have on here.
