i agree with mel ,100 percent ,drop bulb wattage if its to hot,its pointless using higher wattage if a smaller wattage can do the trick,saves on power as well,not to mention hacking up your new cage trying to make basking spot cooler with more ventilation,u might be able to drop the temp but with such a high basking spot,it may still be to hot even with the mods
