Haha, Boofhead is Australian slang. It use to mean that someone is "slow" in the head but these days people just say it meaning as in a chunky large head. Richard meant as in "wow, that skink has a pretty large head"

Beer keg with legs number 4 of 5 shed today as well,they are starting to get rather active,finally a hot day in melbourne,up to 27 after thunderstorms early

Just wondering if anyone else notices the pineal eye/third eye of their skinks going a bright white along with the dulling of the rest of their bodies just before shedding, a few of mine do. Just wondering if people have pictures showing it

only took him a couple hours to completely shed this time, though i do use a shed spray for them. Crowley makes a real mess of his enclosure when shedding, rubs against everything, mainly his log hide, but i tend to clean the enclosure after each shed not just because its a good time to do it but because i have to re organise everything for him anyway

Thanks and yes she is quite dark i love how dark she is, hope she doesnt lighten up too much. And yup, you are right, they do shed in big bits, makes the cleaning up a lot easier thankfully, and the shed comes out looking pretty cool. Ive had one shed nearly the entire body full in one bit. looked pretty neat. Wish i had taken photos now but no one down here really appreciates it like people on here do. Down here everyone thinks its "icky"

Gah, I did have a really good shot that showed the difference between shedded and place still to shed on Zeke, but I cant find it~

I have only once had the pleasure of watching Zeke shed - He also does so so quickly, and eats it to boot! The one time I did see him, I sat in front of his tank for over an hour just watching him rub against all of his rocks, bark and plants, it was so cute~ (Never seen him move so much! )

You have some seriously gorgeous animals Richard, I will be visiting. One day. Just you wait. And I will hug them. All of them.

Crowleys also gorgeous. Blotched? I love the little patch of yellow against the black, he looks so cuddly!!
