Haha glad to help. I know when i first got my skinks I was so pedantic with everything to do with the tank especially. I hope it helps let me know how it goes after trying it

personally i wouldnt put rice in his tank at all. just maybe around the tank or even on top of it, depending on your lid. i myself have an open tank so i dont have humidity issues as much, just need to mist. but putting rice inside the tank id be worried itd block up inside him if he ate it maybe

Maybe if you put it in a sock or a nylon stocking or something and perhaps hang it somewhere? That way it will soak up the moisture in the tank but he won't be able to get to it and end up hurting himself with it.
