TR-TR- TROLLLLLLLLLLL
(so you guys should probably stop feeding it)
This is the most OBVIOUS TROLL I've actually EVER SEEN! I"ll admit I can fall prey to less obvious trolls, as I'm gullible, but this? is freaking ridiculous.

I can't see why you think this is a troll. The OP has not been back since the first post whereas a true troll has to keep posting disagreeing with all to show how much smarter they are; it is their oxygen.
This is more an example of somebody who ignores the combined experience of a group of dedicated carers in favour of something they see posted on YouTube. In this case the YouTube advice was the same as was offered here but with pictures, obviously more appealing than having to read and comprehend that which was being offered.
Spend enough time around the forum world and you see plenty of these 'your advice is wrong so I'm slamming the door never to come back'. On a pet forum it is usually the animal which pays the price of the keeper's ignorance and refusal to accept advice.
There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who do not.

I think that the OP was just a kid, (I Am Not Saying All Kids Are Like This lol), but some think they know everything, or want that instant gratification with things, and dont have the patience, maturity, or understanding to properly care for some animals. I agree with whoever it was that said that the parents should be more involved when children get pets. Parents should know their child, know what they can handle, and be prepared to take care of the animal themselves. My husband and I personally, told our kids if they want a pet they need to save thier money for everything it needs and the cost of the pet, do the research and be able to explain what they learned to us, and the pet has to be approved by us(we of course would provide the vet care). Sounds strict, I know, but thats the way it is with us.Hopefully everything works out and the skink is ok.

Nikki, very true. Also when making kids buy it with their own money they tend to care for it better. When I turned fifteen I bought my first vehicle. My parents gave me the interest free loan but I paid back very penny. It taught me so much. Of at the time I wads jealous of my friends whose parents bought them their cars. But after several years I was thankful tthat my parents made me buy it. IMO this holds true with anything kids buy with their own money

The jig's up, guys. Time to come clean.
The past 8 years of posting false information and creating hundreds of fake accounts to make it appear as though conversations were being held among a large online community in order to trick Dorosz0869 were all for naught. He figured us out. I'm not going to point fingers at who got sloppy, but you know who you are.
Time to close this charade down and pick another animal and unsuspecting youth. Any ever hear of something called a bearded dragon? I hear those might get popular someday...

It's a shame he's also shunning all internet forums. He won't be able to share his newfound expertise and hours of knowledge & experience with the rest of the online world.

Re: New skink owners please read
It seems to me that if someone put together a forum to bamboozle people - and were found out - why in the world would they allow this person's post to continue on the forum? Wouldn't it tip off others of their intentions?
However, since this was one of the first forums I came across before getting Skeeter, I wasn't going to take it as BTS gospel...
I cross referenced and spoke with other BTS owners (lots of long distance phone calls) and breeders (for basic information)...and the all collaborated what is said here.

The additional benefit is of course they can discourse in French.
How interesting . . .
I always had better luck with Atlas Shrugged.
But, alas, our philosophical discussions must be limited to boring ol' English.

Bearded Dragon:

While beardies may have a spiky, offputting appearance, and may even seem a bit scary, they're very friendly and make excellent pets. The best way to calm a wild beardie down is to simply pick it up. They're harmless and will often calm down as soon as they realize you're not eating them.

Don't forget! The best way to grab a beardy is to sneak up behind it and grab it by the tail so it cannot bite you. Once you have a firm grasp of it's tail simply start stroking it's head until it becomes docile just like a puppy. Congratulations! You have tamed your Bearded Dragon! It is guaranteed to be your BFF now.

Re: New skink owners please read
Really though joking or not should mods be posting misinformation on this forum? I understand people are annoyed by what Dorosz0869 said. But isn't everyone just proving his point and making this forum look like a joke? This is the same reason I stopped going on arachnoboards. This thread needs to be locked or deleted. I feel bad if any first time reptile owners came here looking for info and the first thread the saw was this one. Sadly there is a good chance many of you just scared off people who could have contributed, and possibly needed help.
Very disappointing.

I think anyone should realise by this point that the above posts were jokes. But I think the rest of the forum speaks for itself. There is plenty of good advice on here. Also why anyone would be seeking Bearded Dragon care information on here is beyond me.
