Yeah Brad, i do a tonne of these at work, dont have a camera on the microscope at work though. What sort of camera did you use to take the photos, if i can replicate the same method i will start getting photos of stuff for you even small videos of protazoan infections.

That would be very interesting!

If either of you guys don't mind doing this and sharing this, like I said - I'd be happy to put up a separate page for this info and photos, so it can be a permanent reference. I think this stuff is fascinating and good to know as a reptile owner.

I used to take photos through the lense of my binoculars - So Id say any digital camera with a macro setting should work~

That would be awesome! I just use a cheap digital camera (Kodak EasyShare C183) on the macro setting. I just put the lens up to the eye piece and take a picture. Very simple to do.

Out of curiousity, what are your opinions on the last picture?

Hi brad, i would need you to zoom in a bit more to have a good look at the mystery egg. If it was a hook work i would say that it is more likely in transit from ingested from a food item.

Did you click on the picture? It will open it up in a different page and then you can click again to enlarge once more. If you have and still need a larger picture, I can post the original, non resized picture.

Sorry brad i hadnt clicked on it at closer observation, i doubt it is a hook worm , though could deffinitely be a type of strongyl egg, though most likely it will just be an odd looking pin worm was it the same size as the other pin worm eggs. They quite often will look slightly different depending on the specie it came from as well.
