Make sure the hemipene goes in good without any substrate on it.
And don't be afraid to take a picture of it (

This isn't the best picture at all. I did see a few minutes of good copulation. He had it in there.

In my confirmed breedings they were stuck for a good 3-5 minutes.
And you won't know right off. If you catch her ovulating (swelling in the abdominal section) it will be a good sign, or rapid weight gain (some females can decrease in weight, though), loss in appetite (very off and on), things like that.

I wouldn't rush out to buy supplies yet... I'd wait to see if you get more matings, then wait to see some signs of her being gravid. You have a very minimum of 3 months before any babies show up, but since you are putting them together to breed, you need to start some savings for future baby-care, veterinary visits if something goes wrong, and being prepared for keeping any babies you can't sell right off.

Definitely save up money for vet care if its needed, as it often is with gravid females and new born babies of any species

Okay! I certainly will! I am soooo excited! I just love these guys! I spent some equal time with them both last night. I have not seen any brumating, though my male has not had much of an appetite lately. I hope that is because of the recent drop in temps here lately in Central Texas. I have had my windows open a lot. She is a pretty large female already. I hope they copulate again. I noticed his hemipine had this bubbly white like thing around it and this was directly after. Was that the mucous plug maybe? I haven't seen any droppings in the substrate though I could of missed it. 12:20 pm central time 11/18/2013 Meraukes.
Thanks for all the advice!!!

Weird question, has anyone ever heard like a gurgley, bubbly like, farting weird sound before. It is the strangest noise. I keep hearing it at random and I know my other pets aren't doing it. lol tmi

To answer that question.
Yes.. during a poo only, though.

I think it may be starting up again! Virginia was being nice today, and Ema dropped a plug in front of her like the first time (a day before the first copulation). Hopefully will get another mating soon!

Well, both girls are acting very different: both boys freeze, then the girls go to sleep; as soon as one of the boys move, Xyla turns into a gaping, attacking she-devil (which is neither weird nor unexpected from her), Maddie just wants to walk up to the boy's face and snuggle! She just walks up against his body with her face next up to his, and that freaks the boys out; look at Milo, you can SEE the fear:Dakota wrote:Susann wrote:No more Merauke breeding going on here; boys just freeze and girls just go to sleep...
