Hello, I know this is a popular concern but it really does worry me especially with the length of time my skink hasn't eaten.
My northern blue tongue skink has not eaten in a little over 4 months. I read through the FAQ and heard that they can stop eating and slow down during the cold months but the thing is he hasn't slowed down. Every single day he wants to come out and explore and is as friendly and active as ever. For his typical meals I give him dog food with a leafy green but I've tried offering him lots of his usual favorites with not much luck. He will, however, usually eat a superworm if I put it in there but I don't want him to only eat that so I haven't been giving him them. Also, maybe they are still able to sense the weather outside but it hasn't been especially cold inside. The weather has also been very warm for the past few weeks which I thought was when they were supposed to start eating again if it was a brumation thing.
I know you are supposed to keep track of their weight but I messed up and didn't get the beginning weight, however he doesn't visually look like he's lost weight. He is 3 years old and I've had him since he was a baby. His basking spot is 100°F and cool side in mid 70s. Pics are from today

Re: Northern skink has not eaten in months
My Northerns have just finished breeding season, at which times the males do not eat. Therefore, if you have a male they normally do not eat from beginning of brumation until end of breeding season. Breeding season may vary by location but here in the Northeast it runs from February till mid to late March, sometimes into April depending on when their brumation began (usually mid October to end November). Males are also overactive at this time, even if no female is present.
