Looking for a tank recommendation

Postby acoolghoul » Thu Dec 15, 2022 8:33 am

Hey all, I've been thinking about upgrading my blue tongue's tank to something a bit more substantial. Currently, mine is in a glass tank 48"L X 18" W 16"H

I'd like to go a bit bigger, maybe 5ftL x 2ftW x 2ftH

I also have mesh screens on top, this with the glass tank has had me battling temps and humidity for the entire time I've had him. (I have foil covering the tops, but it doesn't really do much, I've also tried damp towels over the top.)

I'm looking for a good company that makes custom enclosures. I'd love to have something that allows things like thermostats, misters and heat lamps/UVB strip to be mounted and fed through the back or top. I'd love to really automate his tank as much as possible to where any dip in temps or humidity is automatically remedied. (Or close to)

Other information, my BTS is an Irian Jaya (if that even matters.) I'm in the United States, Metro Detroit Michigan (if anyone in this area knows of any local sellers?) My budget is around $500ish (give or take.)

I don't know if I'm handy enough to build my own, but I know that is an option. Any good company recommendations would be nice. Happy to provide any more info if needed.

Many companies manufacture reptile enclosures, but I have found all but API (Animal Plastics) to be of inferior quality. There is a wait time for these, but well worth it. They look amazing and last forever. They offer add ons they will install for you if you are not particularly handy.
I own 20+ of these and swear by them.
