Hello,
Is it normal/expected for a possible female BTS to lay unfertilized ova when a male has never been present? I have a two year old Northern BTS who has recently slowed down eating and activity and seems more moody. Just curious if this were a possibility to expect. Thanks!

I wouldn't say it's impossible, a female may ovulate regardless. I've seen it many times in other lizards. Bearded dragons, for example, can lay unfertilized eggs even if a female is your only pet. Never witnessed in BTS without presence of male as I have always kept both sexes.

I could have sworn I just replied to this, but I'm not sober so not actually sure...
Anyways, I've never had a female slug out without being pair in that year. I'm sure it's possible, but I'd say very unlikely. They do definitely go through hormone/behaviour changes throughout the year once they're mature regardless of pairing though.
