What is wrong with my Skink’s scales

Hey guys! I just got a halmahera blue tongue skink a few days ago and I’m just a little worried about some dry scales/marks on his head. I plan to take him to a vet to be sure, but i can’t do that for a few days, so I thought I’d see if anybody here had some advice. These marks were present when I got him, and they are only on the top of his head. I don’t think the store was keeping him in proper humidity, so I’m guessing it could be from that, but I’m not sure. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated, as I am new at all of this.

Most likely damaged scales from stuck shed or a bite from a cagemate that’s healing.

Halmaheras are imported, and before they get here conditions are less than satisfactory. As previous post mentioned, improper humidity and overcrowding is a common factor. Halms need at the very least 75-80 percent humidity levels. Taking your new skink to a vet is a good idea, being you have no previous records or any information for that matter. Imports frequently have parasites also, so a vet check is important. If you have other reptiles I'd keep the new one in a separate room for now.
