Should I be concerned?
Hello. I noticed this spot on my boys head. It looks like there’s part of his scales missing. It’s like a hole. Should I be worried about this? Attaching photo

Re: Should I be concerned?
They’re damaged scales usually from stuck shed or he scraped it on something, it’s not bleeding or looking bad so there’s nothing to worry about.

Is this the head, on top? If so, the spot is what called the third eye and completely normal in lizards.

Ok, I wanted to make sure you weren't thinking the third eye is an issue. The area that I see looks ok and probably is from a little bit of stuck shed. You can wait until it sheds again and see if the spot clears up. You can also try to rub a dab of mineral oil on the spot to see if you can loosen anything up as well. Overall though, it doesn't look bad and should be fine by next shed.

Re: Should I be concerned?
so i got me and my wife a second maruke skink and its been a month this is something i notice as the new skink has a reddish spot were its scales are sticking out.
it also has some scales on a black stipe that seem to have a bubele under it when lifted but my skink squirms to much to take a pic. i plan on takeing it to the vet but i still feel the need to ask
