How to serve "stiff" veggies?

My 4 month old Irian Jaya has shown interest in bell peppers, carrots, spaghetti squash, and collard greens. All I have done so far is mince up the veggies really small and mix into them the wet cat food. Going forward I would like to offer little slices of veggies or fruit so we can build our relationship, but the little dude is so tiny I'm worried he won't be able to swallow the pieces I cut. Will they actually chew a stiff veggie like a carrot or bell pepper or just try to swallow it and spit it back up? How large is their throat anyway?

I would offer fruit treats, such as banana slices, blueberries, raspberries, peach slice/cube, etc. As for veggies, I would offer them in small slices or chunks if you wish to use them that way. They do chew/crush their food, but pieces still need to be small. My skinks go nuts for hard boiled egg slices as well.

Wonderful advice thank you! I was hesitant to use fruit as I was looking for something I could use daily to grow his trust, and I don't want to sweeten his diet by that much. But a boiled egg is perfect, and I have had some success just scooping up a little bite of his normal chow. Thanks again!
