Something’s amiss
Hello I’m starting to get rather concerned now about this so help would be really appreciated. It’s been about 2-3 weeks since stevie last had a full meal. Since then he’s eaten 2-3 chunks of banana and mere spoonfuls of premixed food. After one spoonful he shows signs of being full. He’s very active and isn’t exhibiting any signs of illness. One thing I have noticed is a white gooey substance unlike urea accompanying his number 1s and 2s. This may sound ridiculous but could he be a male wanting a lady which may explain the white goo and going off his food.? This is my only thought. Any other info needed just ask. Thank you.

Re: Something’s amiss
Yes if you can take a picture of the "goo" do so, but sounds very much like sperm plugs, which are often deposited by males during breeding season.

Okay I’ll try to get a photo of one next time. Would this explain his lack of eating also he’s sometimes been clawing at the front of his tank would mating season cause him to want to make a bid for freedom as he’s never done that before ? Thanks

Yes, males will often "glass surf" and have reduced appetites when in season.
