Skink hissed at fogger hose.

Postby Kevin142001 » Mon Sep 28, 2020 2:56 pm

I've never seen him do that before. Half the time its on max he hides, sometimes he'll still hangout. But this time it was on max and it came on and he looked up at it and huffed and puffed.

I was like whoa okay dude ill turn it to minimum.

For a Halmahera he really doesn't seem to care about the humidity at all. Always shiny scales breathes normal no visible eye irritation.

I only say that because it can hit 80% only when its on max blast, 15 mins out of every hour but In between it being on its like 50%. Overnight probably stays around 70%

But yeah, I cant keep it where it should be if it's not on max, and he apparently is tired of it clouding up his home right now

Hard saying why he got upset this time around, but it can happen. What are all the ways have you tried keeping humidity up? Trust in his species it is extremely important. You don't want to deal with RI or stuck shed issues.

I totally forgot I had posted this. Alot going on with school.

So basically every hour the humidity goes from 80% when its on to 50-60% right before it'll kick on again. 45 mins later. Ecoearth actually does dry out on the hotside. And it is very much wet dirt on the cool side. 70% all through the night. The top is probably 75% covered in foil. You have like a half inch slot on both ends to facilitate air exchange and you have where the lights actually sit. Being uncovered. He has a UVB bulb 100 watts. Also a100 watt and a 75 watt heat bulb. The hygrometer/thermometer will read 90 on the hot side under the heat. But the laser says the basking surface is 100 to 105ish The eco earth this time is about a half inch thick so I should probably put more in. Previously I had closer to two inches but the hygrometers read the same. I bought the wrong size bag this time. The temp in the house is 75 during the day 70 at night. Thats the AC thermostat.
