Newbie here with a question about shedding. My new rescue, a 10-11 month old Halmahera I named Papi, successfully shed about a month ago. To my surprise, she started shedding again last night! I thought it'd be months from now. My only previous skink shed experience: My boss's 16-year old northern skink DidgeriDoo office pet, that I cared for, only shed one time in a year period. Please advise. Thanks!
Maybe shedding periods are more irregular and/or frequent in juvenile and young adult & pubescent "teen" skinks?
Perhaps tropical skinks may shed more often than desert subspecies?
Maybe Papi will be a more frequent shedder, as shed frequency can be different for each individual skink?
Could her tank environment contribute to irregular or frequent sheds? (A bit too dry and/or too cool?)
Papi currently has a heat mat, and three temperature zones- 90, 80, and 70, with standard NY home humidity of about 50%. I'll buy a separate "moist cave" and moss today to enhance the comfort of her 2nd shed. Since her adoption 7 weeks ago, I've been keeping Papi's moisture up with 1-2 warm bath soaks a day, and a daily outside warm sun and water spray/misting sessions. (my funds are limited as I'm still laid-off from work in the film production industry, so purchase of recycled and new supplies has been slower than I'd like. )
Thanks in advance for input!

Re: Teens and Frequent Shedding
My knowledge on BTS is currently limited to the research I have done. With no practical real world experience. So hopefully someone with real world experience can confirm the info I'm passing on.
Younger animals do shed more frequently and there are other factors that can trigger shedding as well (skin infection, illness).
Under 12 months: Every 2-3 weeks
12-18 months : Once a month
18 Months + : Every 2-3 months
I haven't seen this broken down into sub species. So no clue if that is a determining factor. I wouild venture to guess that this will also be determined by each individual as well (affected by growth rate of each individual? etc).

Re: Teens and Frequent Shedding
Correct, a rapidly growing skink will shed more frequently.

Perfectly normal. Growing skinks equal more shedding.

Thanks a million for the input, everyone! Glad Papi's short shed cycle seems to be normal.
