Pinkys fell apart

Postby Bentayga » Mon Aug 03, 2020 7:07 pm

I promise I don’t feed my bluey these often, just as a treat maybe every two months!

I went and bought some Arctic Mice in the pinky size today, i put them in hot water as soon as I got home and I left it for maybe one and half to two hours. When I was talking them out of the packaging, their bodies started to fall apart ?? As in I grabbed them with chop sticks and the bodies just start to separate. Never happened before and I was wondering if these were bad mice? I ended up just throwing them away

A pinky mouse does not need to be in the hot water that long. A few minutes will defrost them. I exploded a rat myself yesterday, left them in the hot water too long. My snake did not care though!

Yes, don't ever leave them that long to thaw. Just a few minutes.
