What are your temps? Sometimes they get a bit unsettled if it gets too hot, but with a tank that size there should be enough of a gradient. Some just do that. You can let it loose in a room and it will still try and climb the walls. Does he have deep enough substrate to dig and bury in?

she borrows for about 3-5 hours a day her temperatures in the tank is basking rocks are 31 degrees warm side is 20-25 degrees but I also have a heat mat on at 18 degrees on the warm side and the cool side is 20- 18 degrees when I take her out of her enclosure she sometimes will do it too. can she get hurt doing it?? my background for her enclosure broke and I haven't been able to get one for months dude to COVID could that be a reason.

If temps/enclosure isn't the issue, it's likely she's just bored. They have curious little minds, and some skinks are just way more active than others. They go through phases of wanting things, too, which can sometimes be related to breeding season, or just plain curiosity. My skink often pesters me for attention if I'm doing something he finds interesting, and there's no explanation for it other than he simply just wants. They're funny little lizards
