Hi everyone! I'm looking for some help figuring out what's happening to my blue tongue's butt and if I should take her (possibly a him but I'm saying her for now) to the vet.
This is my first blue tongue but I did a good amount of research before and after getting her. I can't find anything on this particular problem, so here we are.
I've had her for about two months now so she's maybe four months old? A little less than a month ago she decided she only wants to eat every other day now (with the occasional snack) but she still poops regularly (every day or two). Several days ago I'd noticed she hadn't pooped for a few days. She still ate normally so I waited to see if it would work itself out on its own but it didn't. After denying my offering of eggs and bananas, I tried the warm bath approach and it worked immediately. I was relieved and equally repulsed but relieved nonetheless until today.
Excuse my lack of knowledge for the proper terms here but I'll try my best to explain without the technical words. Basically, she peed and the urate looked normal, but what came out next wasn't poop - it was something pinkish that then went back inside. She's still active and isn't seeming like anything is wrong, but when I took her out I looked at her butt and it's a little red and swollen. Is this just because she took a massive poop or are her insides broken or is that proof she's not a she or something else? I'll post pictures that felt very invasive to take but hopefully might help find some answers. If I need to take her to the vet I definitely will but it never hurts to exhaust every resource in my opinion. Any answers or ideas or similar experiences are greatly appreciated! Thank you

Re: Post Constipation Concerns
What you saw were likely the hemipenes protruding during defecation, which occurs with some males. Which also means you have a male. Post a picture, but as long as the the pink parts you saw retracted fully back in, your skink should be fine.
