Hi everyone, I bought a blue tongue skink about a month ago. 2 days ago I noticed he's got 2 pretty big lumps on his back seemingly overnight. I'm wondering if you have any experience or advice with this type of thing. He's in a bioactive habitat and his basking spot and temps are regulated with a temperature controller. He's got UVB tube lighting and he eats a mix of cat/dog food mixed with veges and calcium. He eats fine and is gaining weight slowly, but isn't really interested in live food. The only vet in my town willing to look at reptiles is currently out of town for another week. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My guess is a bacterial infection, which is common in imported Halmahera skinks. Your skink may need antibiotics. You can use Neosporin on the affected spots for now. I've successfully treated similar skin infections by applying Neosporin daily and using a disposable substrate lining like paper towels, changed everyday.

Just a thought - Has their skin improved? The images look like stuck shed rather than lumps to me - are you sure it won't come off by soaking the skin with luke warm water? An easy method to do this for a young bluey would be to hold a damp cloth/kitchen paper over the skin for a little bit to loosen the scales. How are your humidity levels? One of the toes in the last picture looks like they also have stuck shedding , so if it is still there since your post - definitely get your humidity up
(aim for 80-90+%, as I agree it looks like a Halmahera)
But always a good idea to get them checked out as mb606587 says, especially if it is actually lumps on the body.
