Hello hello.
Some might remember me from a different about unusual behavior. I'm new here still. Any ways. My Male blue tongue, Chrome, has recently been glass surfing almost nonstop. He occasionally stops in a random corner of the enclosure to dig, but seems to be trying to escape for the most part. He used to do this rarely, but every since I corrected the heating, lighting and the hides of his enclosure, he's been a lot more active along with the female he lives with. He's been living wiht me for about 3 years now, so let's not confuse him for a new family member.
I've heard there are a lot of reasons for glass surfing in skinks including boredom. He even does this half way through the night when he should be sleeping. =.= I was wondering if its possible that he either wants to mate or explore. He's usually pretty relaxed, but has these glass surfing bursts of energy that last a few hours. I'd let him out for a roam right now, but its midnight and i"m not sure if I'm supposed to do that.

Temperature? I'm not 100% sure at the cold end because it varies.. But the heat spot is set to 38-40c on a thermometer and the tank is 4 ft across. And humidity? I don't have anything for measuring, but aside form the water bowl which is a fair size, its fairly dry in there, since I was told by the pet store that they prefer dry substrate. So I just use Zoo-Med Repti Bark. This behavior change is kinda recent. I realized I had their heat too low, at about 30.. Which is shame on me.. But I upped it to the temp and they've both been full of energy during the day and sometimes at night, though rarely.

Ah I see you're in Australia. Humidity wouldn't be an issue then. As you said, possibly behaviors correlated with mating season.
