Ouch
Is there anything I can put in an enclosure to file down nails a little bit. Gilbert’s nails are like little needles and it looks like I got in to a fight with a pair of scissors when all he did was touch me?

Some people use sandstone or rough concrete blocks.
But really , I'd invest in some bird nail scissors and next time you are giving the skink a snuggle and it's nice and relaxed , take a mm or 2 off each nail.

Slate tiles work well too.
Use caution if you decide to trim the nails yourself. If your skink moves wrong and you miss, you could take the whole toe. I personally use human nail clippers, however I can trim just about any critters nails. Alas, if your worried, your vet could help or perhaps a reptile expert could help you trim them.

His nails aren’t long they are just very sharp. There isn’t really any nail to trim. I might try the slate tile thank you for all your help
