Why is my Skink’s back sunken in?
Part of my new Blue Tongue’s back is weirdly sunken in. I’m super worried about it, and haven’t found anything about why his back is like this. Anyone have any ideas?

3 possibilities I think
>> MBD has resulted in a deformation of the spine and ribs … I recommend a vet take xrays to determine the bone density and perhaps you need to upgrade the UV lighting and make changes to his diet
>> injured back …. vet should examine him and again xrays will be helpful
>> an infection producing a pus filled growth on his back …. vet needs to investigate.

Has he been climbing excessively? My 1 year old eastern had the same problem due to constant climbing/glass surfing. It’s worse when he’s young but it’s not so bad overtime. Babies are easily prone to deformed backs because their bones are softer.
