Scratched Head
My blue tongue scratched his head while digging under one of his hides and now Im worried and I don't know what is safe to use to disinfect it or what other actions I have to take to make sure it doesn't get infected.

Re: Scratched Head
Awe, sorry about your poor little one. You can just use a warm wash cloth with water to clean the area and apply a triple antibiotic ointment to it. If you have chlorhexidine solution or a very dilute betadine solution, you can also use that to clean it. Be careful it doesn't drip in the eyes if you use those though. Watch it as if it was your own wound. Redness, swelling, discharge, or pain. Should heal up just fine.

Re: Scratched Head
concentrated betadiene is fine to applied , just a drop or two , smeared with an "earbud" , and let it airdry. Worked for Lucky the rescued water skink, and for George my juvenile bluetongue when his sister bashed him up one day.

I use a q-tip with a little peroxide. Has worked for me for 40 years, never an infection.
