Reptile carpet

Hey guys,
I wanted to know your opinion on reptile carpets. Would they be ok for northern blue tongue skinks?

I wouldn't recommend it since they like to burrow.

If I put in a lot of hides would that be ok? I have a suspicion that the aspen is making cuts in her scales and aspen has an odd odour. The humidity is quite high so I was hoping the carpet would help.

Burrowing isn't just a way to hide it's also a form of enrichment. My Northern loves its hides but burrows a lot for fun.
