My blue tongued skinks mouth is extremely concerning.

Hello everyone, I posted on here quite some time ago regarding my blue tongued skinks mouth, it was a small problem with his lip at the time, and it showed signs of improvement, so I never responded to that post again because I believed the problem to be fixed.
I don't know if it is related to the last problem or not, but it appears to be in the same general area, which concerns me immensely.

It has started to turn black, and it has rough bits that jutt out a bit.
I have him in reptile woodchips, so I thought maybe a woodchip got jammed in, but it hasn't come out if it is, and his lip has begun to darken very slowly.
I'm at a loss, what can I do short of taking him to a vet, which is out of my price range at this time.
Is there some kind of reptile friendly disinfectant I can apply gently?

ive read that you can use betadine iodine on a q-tip and lightly dab at the area. but im thinking you should at least call a vet and ask them. also have you heard of CareCred? its a medical loan that you can use for Vet bill for your pets. my friend had to use it when her dog eat a sock. hope this helps.
