Almost had a heart attack!
So today I decided to let my beloved Mintake outside for some sunshine. I placed him on top of my kids play structure. He usually just wonders around and sun's himself up there. My oldest daughter had a friend over and they were playing outside in the sprinkler. My youngest was sleeping. So I was sitting outside on the deck monitoring my daughter and her friend. Also keeping an on on Mintaka. About 40 minutes later my youngest daughter woke up. I came inside and got her and then went back outside to check on things. Mintaka was still enjoying the weather and so was the kids. At this time my youngest wanted to go in the kid pool. I had to fill it up with the hose, so it was freezing cold. The other 2 children also wanted to go in it as well. So I had to run inside and get hot water. Mind you the whole time I have been checking on Mintaka as well. As a matter of fact I was planning on bringing him inside immediately after I got the water for the kids. Well after I got the water for the kids I went to check on Mintaka and he was gone!!! This was all less than 5 minutes from the last time I checked on him. I freaked out. There is no way he could get down from there unless going down the slide. So I assumed that is what he did on accident. Mind you I live on 4.5 acres smack dab in the country. He could be anywhere. Fearing I lost him forever, I started to cry. Also tried to remain calm as I explained to the kids we need to try to find him. The kids set off in an adventure to look for him and I sent my husband a message at work letting him know what happened. We couldn't find him anywhere. I was feeling aweful. My husband left work and came to the rescue. We decided he probably went under the deck so my husband tore the deck apart and crawled under there. Guess who was there??? Yes, we found him!!! So to end my story...I owe my husband BIG time! Also never ever will my babies be left unattended again. They will be either on leash, caged some way outside, or with me at all times! Thank God my baby was found!
