So I am back with more questions.
I have been toying with the idea of getting a 55 gallon (or bigger) tank if I can find one. There are a bunch on my local Craigslist, but the problem is that most of them are fish tanks so they don't have any kind lid. I want to give my Northern Bluey the most space I can so they can burrow deep and roam wide (or at least have enough space to turn around). I plan to make a custom cage some day, but for now a glass one will likely work the best with my living situation. I know many people use tubs, but I would like to see my Bluey and I would like the reverse to be true as well so they acclimate to people. Any advice for either custom making a screen/other type of lid that can have heaters placed on it? I was thinking a wire mesh of some kind but I don't have a lot of experience. I've been doing a bit of research but I wanted to know if anyone had any advice before I committed to making a screen lid.
I am totally open to other tank ideas too! I know the screen lid doesn't keep in moisture well, and I could add a humid hide or a basking pool to help. Anyways, I always like to hear other opinions and voices of experience.
