First time owner viv help!

Postby QuantumNightmare » Wed Mar 15, 2017 2:00 pm

My 5 month old Indonesian Blue Tongue arrives tomorrow! I have their viv all set up, just wanted to ask if I'm missing anything/doing anything stupid! I really want them to have a nice home :0

The tank is a 36" x 18" x 12" (40 gallon breeder) with a sliding glass front and side vents. The substrate is a mix of orchid bark to maintain humidity and aspen shavings for ease of burrowing. There's a hide at each end and the hot end is kept at 37 degrees Celsius by a thermostat-controlled uv/heat spotlight, with the cool end staying around 22-25.

Looks good! What humidity are you getting? Another trick is to add a tile to keep the water dish and place the food bowl on.

Did you get your bluey?
