Crawfish for Protein??

Crawfish for Protein??

I have heard of it but can you feed a northern bts crawfish for protein. (obviously with the claws removed) is that a healthy snack.

Just like with people, these guys can eat almost anything in moderation. I don't see anything wrong with the occasional crawdaddy for a snack or as a special addition to some of his feedings. I'd probably remove the shell depending on the size of the bluey. Just be mindful of where it came from and make sure it's safe for him to eat. I've seen other keepers feed theirs shellfish as a treat without an issue, but it's always better to be safe than sorry!

Seafood for blueys has divided opinion I think. I'm not sure that it's known to be bad exactly, but people might avoid it because they don't know whether it's good or bad. Do a search in it on the forum here to read about people's suggestions.
