Mouth sore on my baby bluey....

I have had my blue tongue for a little over a week now and he seems to be getting comfortable with me and his new environment. I had him out the other day to explore and noticed two identical bumps, one in each side of his mouth. I have heard of mouth rot but never had a reptile have any sort of bacterial infection. The nearest vet that treats reptiles is an hour away and I don't have time to take him till next week. Can anyone help offer me some advice. Is there anything I can do at home to help it from advancing if it is a form of mouth rot? I thought maybe peroxide or just some mild antibacterial soap and water cleaning with a q tip but I don't want to make him sick. I'll attach some pics. Please let me know what you think.

Unless you have noticed changes in behavior and eating habits I wouldn't be to concerned. Yours is very young and I'm thinking back to my own two bubs when they were that young, they went through a stage where those same scales along the mouth sort of protruded oddly, it was just a stage in their development which they quickly grew past. If you can get a vet appointment in never hurts to get a checkup and certainly go with your gut feeling on that. Based on the pictures I don't see anything that raises red flags, assuming there are no other behavioral indicators.

Yours is quite young, be sure to supplement with calcium and D3 once a week, it will help his little bones develop as he grows.

Thank you, that does makes me feel a little better. I still plan to make him a vet visit as soon as possible and keep on eye on him and his mouth bumps for any changes but it settles my panick a bit to think maybe it's not as serious as I thought.

Sounds like a good idea, never hurts to get a vet checkup even if only for the peace of mind. Keep us updated.

Vet visit is still a week away but the raised spots on his mouth have not gotten any bigger. In fact, they may be smaller. He just shed and is looking pretty fresh and very active. Appetite is good, he seems happy and healthy so I think it'll be ok. I've seen him open his mouth. Few times to yawn (or what seems like yawning) and I see no puffiness or redness on the inside of the mouth. I think I was just being an over worried mommy .

Congrats on your beautiful baby! Sometimes little ones bite down hard on objects they are mistaking for food! They're always hungry at that age and sample just about everything...when I had baby northerns this year they more than once tried to eat their food dish...! Thank God no injuries but I've seen similar to yours with no ill after affects. Tcopitho just about covered it all, And totally agree that it's a good idea anyway to have a checkup. If nothing else, it will make you feel better.

I let him roam around on the carpet once a week and he found a pellet of fish food and munched on it. It was kind of funny. I freaked out at first because I didn't know what it was and then I was concerned that it may be too hard but he made quick work of it. Now I pre inspect the floor thoroughly before letting him loose.
