My blue tongue is sick!
Hi everyone i recentky found a blue tongue in my backyard. He was lying in the tall grass in the shade and he looked very tired and weak and he would not react when you pick him up it was like he was dead! so i thought i would just leave him to rest and then two days later i saw him in the same place just lying there so i decided to get him some fruit and water. so i put him on a rock in the sun and dropped little bits of water on his nose and he would lick it up and that was good but he wouldent eat the food then all of a sudden he crawled off the rock and onto my tshirt in the shade so i took him inside and put him in a big container and put a tshirt on the bottom of the container so he could lay down on it and i put some water and tiny bits of banna, parsley and carrot in there aswell. Then he started making little whistle noises every 30 seconds and his eyes will either be half closed or closed fully so i took thecontainer back outside in the sun and he started moving again so thats good but he still wont eat or drink anything. Should i try feeding him meat? Should i keep him in the container until he fully recovers? Or should i put him back where i found him? I would really apreciate any advice to get this guy healthy again!

It is illegal in Victoria (and other Australian states and territories) to take any animal from the wild, even for rehabilitation. Call one of the wildlife rehabilitators who know how to care for them.
