So this is my second blue tongue skink as my first passed away very suddenly two months ago. Her name is Aries and I'm pretty sure she is a Northern Blune Tongue. I've had her for almost a month and when I bought her she was said to be eating well on dog food. I've had no problems feeding her but I've expanded her diet with veggies, a little bit of fruits, a very occasional pinkie, and live bugs (hornworms, super worms, mealworms, and waxworms).
When I first got her she was a very reddish color and now she's gray. Her behavior hasn't changed. She's moody but not aggressive so I don't bother her often.
Her day temps are and her night temps are in the 80's.
This may just be her getting closer to shedding but she's been this gray color for about a week and a half now. I'm just a worried owner after my last skink.

Definitely not a northern. You've got a merauke. They're Indonesian, most likely imported. They need a much higher humidity level than Australian species. Looks as if preparing to shed, but check your humidity levels and use a substrate that holds humidity well. I've kept them but not as long as others on this forum, I'll let the longtime Merauke keepers chime in!
