Enclosure size

Postby UroFreak13 » Wed Oct 19, 2016 10:44 am

I know there are a lot of topics on enclosure size already. However this is more related to height. I currently have two tanks with 36by18inch base and one is 18 high the other is 12inches. Just wondering is my ball python or indo bluey would make more use of the height.

Thanks.

Snake would make use of the height and you could put branches up or whatever, Bluie's are ground animals not climbers.

I don't know about ball pythons, but I do keep my bluey in a 36x18x12 and if I could do it over again I would get him a taller tank. He climbs everything I put in there and has at times scraped his back and even crawled out once when the screen wasn't totally locked shut. It really depends on how tall the hides would be, and how deep you want your substrate. Just my 2cents.

I decided to make the switch, just because the bluey wasn't using the upper space. He also uses his "shelf".
