Newbie says hello

Hi All
Just found this great site & I just wanted to say g'day.
We're from Country town in Australia.

My 13yo son & I are just starting out in the world of lizards tho we've had a few Blueys over the years since he was a little tacker.
We're both loving it & we now have a few enclosures & tanks with some Eastern Blueys & 2 Blotcheys.
I think the big female Blotchey is an Alpine but I'm not too sure

Hopefully they will breed, but if not, we're havin fun

Anyhoo, I'm going back to read some more posts now.

Hi and welcome! Great to see another aussie with blotchies (and Easterns of course). We have a 1 year old alpine blotchy named Treasure - my daughter, who is 8, looks after him (or her).

I noticed your pic you posted over in the Pics Post. You seem to have one alpine and one lowlands phase blotchy. Same species but breeding them may not be encouraged as breeders like to keep the lines clean. There are a couple of legendary breeders on this forum also from Victoria so hopefully we'll hear from them (hint hint Richard and Scott )

Big one is a highlands/Alpine the small one is a lowlands.

So i was curious is there an issue with breeding Highlands and lowlands together? wouldn't that be the same as breeding 2 different morphs together of the same species or say a NSW eastern with a QLD eastern.
