Is he a Halmehara?

Postby Tahatan » Wed Feb 10, 2016 2:56 am

Hi Guys, following on from my other post about humidity, here is my BTS called Grunt. I'd like ot make sure he is definitely a Halmehara before continue keeping his tank at 70+% humidity. I'm a bit concerned because after reading a lot of posts on this forum, I've seen quite a few BTSs that look very similar to Grunt that are actually Merauke. I just want to make sure I am caring for him/her as best I can!

So can anyone kindly have a look at him and let me know what type he is (and if possible whether he looks healthy)?

Thank you kindly!

Well, regardless of Halmahera or Merauke, humidity needs to still stay high. :) You indeed have a Halmahera.

Ah, that's a very good point! Anyway, at least now I know for sure he is a Halmahera :D

Thanks very much Dakota :)

Not a problem! He has thinner bands than most — that is probably what is throwing you off. I have one just like him named Riley. :)

I second the opinion that it's a Halmahera.
