He is hitting his head on things. The tank that I bought for him is an Exo Terra 55 gallon wide tank, I am sure most of you know you can buy styrofoam inserts for tanks. This tank came with the styrofoam when I bought it.

Unfortunately my skink (his name is Blue) always tries to climb on it. The tank is latched at the top so I have no fear of him escaping or anything. The problem is I don't know how to keep him from climbing the foam. Each time he climbs it he tries to open the top of the cage for a few seconds and then loses his grip, hitting his head on things in the process which is what you see in the above picture. His head is all scabbed up and I am worried if I don't do something about it he might end up getting a concussion or infection, not to mention it just looks terrible. I like the way the foam looks aesthetically and it hides the cords of my thermometers, I would like to keep the foam if possible but at this point I am considering just removing the whole thing if he keeps being dumb.
Does anyone have any ideas?
