Update on 6 month old CBB from Diana and Dakota

This year I was lucky enough to adopt one of the CBB from Diana Mason​ and Dakota Nivens. Azrael, formerly known as Jasper, was the offspring of Hunter and Xaunder and now is 6 months old. He is already 19 inches long, it is amazing how fast he has grown.

Since there are still not a lot of CBB Meraukes out there I wanted to give an update on how he is doing and share a few pics after his recent shed to show how amazing he is looking now.

Thanks to Diana, he was friendly when I received him and has never once tried to bite.

He absolutely loves his enclosure and uses the whole 5x2 space. It is set-up with a biosubstrate and he spends more time digging around then above ground. In fact he has 3 different hides. One above ground just behind some branches, and then has a burrow under the water platform and another he has dug next to the basking stone. Sometimes he will just randomly dig under an area, especially if shedding at which time he destroyed all the live plants except 2.

To keep up the humidity he has a mistking system and though I thought it might scare him, if he is out he will raise his head and just let it roll over him with his tongue flicking in and out rapidly. With this, his sheds just fall right off and the humidity is a breeze to maintain.

As you can tell, I am very glad to have made the choice of a bts, sorry if this has been more info than you wanted to know, however I just wanted to share in case there are others debating on getting one.

He has his mama's belly. Daddy's coloration. Mama's white sides. Thanks for posting! I am glad Diana decided to breed them. Now I know how killer Xaunder's babies are going to be this year because of her. You have done well with him!

Yay! He looks great! That wa one of my favorites, I always thought its back pattern reminded me of graffiti.

Thanks for the update! I love to see skinks that were born here all grown up, they leave so small so Ive no idea what they look like a few months later.

Dakota,cardinal sin and one of the best ways of jinxing ones self is counting on chickens before they hatch,lol

Looking great,have to agree with diana,its asome seeing how your babies develop when sent off to new homes,meraukes looming great and obviously doing as great as it looks,thats some excellent growth,good job and thanks for sharing
