Humidity Systems

Hey guys and gals I just had a quick question. What are your experiences were with different humidity systems and which has worked best for your skink? This would of course is directed to those of you who own or have owned Blueys from more tropical regions. I've been looking into several and the two that I keep running into are The Monsoon Rainfall system, and the Mistking. Now the Monsoon I have heard the timers will go out after a while. One review stated its due to condensation so if you just leave the control panel off the top of the reservoir it will last for years. Another note on this I watched a youtube video and as it states it is a "rainfall" system. I mean that thing soaks the cage. I'm worried it might be too much. The Mistking indeed does mist and has great reviews but is highest price. Not that big of an issue. I would rather pay $120 and have it last for years rather than buy a hundred cheap ones over the course of a few years. I did see the reptile foggers but wasn't really sure if that would be best for a skink. Any tips and advice are much appreciated, thanks!

In my experience, my Mist King systems have worked well. I buy mine in kits from http://flchams.com/product/mist-king-ul ... ng-system/ I like this for most of my tropical reptile setups (skinks included). It doesn't drip at all when set up correctly and comes in black, which is a nice feature. The kit is a bit expensive, but it is worth it in my opinion, mainly for ease of use. There is no real hassle if you have the whole kit, because you don't need any extra parts unless you have a unique enclosure. This is just my experience, but I haven't bought one in several months. Got MistKing as well and LOVE it. Could not keep Meraukes in the Utah desert otherwise.
I would not recommend the rainfall-type systems, you want as fine a mist or fog as you can get; you want to humidify the AIR, not soak their environment.
