My easterns.....

Postby DianaBlueTongue » Tue Aug 18, 2015 6:23 am

These three are awesome, I love these skinks and feel really lucky to have a trio of unrelated (or mostly at least) animals now. The first is my newest addition, a 2015 nsw eastern produced by Kim Lancey, second my adult male and last picture my adult female who is HOPEFULLY gravid by the male. I had a 6 day long successful mating period between those two about a month ago WAY outta the breeding season usually associated with these guys in the states. She was super cooperative the whole time except the very last day when she started trying to bite him and run away, hoping that's a good sign, and the picture posted of her is a recent shot of her looking quite a bit more barrel shaped then usual. Her appetite sucks, she's SUPER grumpy with me (usually my calmest skink), and is basking all daylight hours offered. Fingers crossed!

In any case though, I love seeing the slight boom in population we've had over here this last year with these skinks, hopefully more people will get to enjoy these awesome skinks now! I know I am!

They look great Diana! Sometimes breeding does not follow the text book so you never know!

The top picture looks exactly like my skink but the breeder said mine was a Northern. I don't know what's the difference but the colors of your Eastern looks like my Northern.
