Hi! My almost 8 month old eastern is not eating! It started with just eating a few pieces I gave to him by hand, and now he just won't take anything. He's also become super active, walking around, digging, climbing the glass, etc. I let him out a lot and thought maybe he wants to find some food somewhere so I hid some around and he would just smell it and then walk away from it. It's as if he's really hungry but won't eat anything... I've tried wet puppy/cat food, dog roll, raw meats like diced beef, chicken and turkey mixes, live food (mealworms, crickets)... He won't even go for eggs, cooked or raw or even his favourite treats strawberries. I have no idea what to do. He doesn't look sick and as I said he's super active...
Usually I feed him about every 4 or 5 days. I've scheduled a trip to the vet for next week. In the meantime... Any ideas on what I should do?

Could be a male that is only interested in finding a female, they usually have their mind on finding a female not about eating and such i could be wrong though.

Could very easy be a young male in search of a mate. My males don't eat through most of the breeding season

My suspected male Blotchie that is roughly 8-11 months has only just started eating again after about a month of not eating, but managed to get him eating again with scrambled eggs, monitor the weight see if it drops otherwise you might have to do more drastic measures if it drops to much.

Re: Gone 3 weeks without eating!
If it helps, I just took my one year old skink in to the vet today for this exact problem (3 weeks without eating, otherwise active and doing a lot and not losing weight). The vet chalked it up to breeding season.
I had fecals done and am waiting for the results in a day or two, so I will let you know. But I believe it is the breeding season.

Thanks for the replies guys! If that is the case, how long do you think it'd last for?

It's becoming really frustrating now... He's constantly walking around and scratching on the glass. I just let him roam around on my bed now and I've put him back.

He's a boy looking for a girl, not one bit hungry. He won't eat until the hormone surges die down, no matter what you do. My Milo can go several months without eating during breeding season and slim down considerably, constantly scratching on the glass. They don't starve to death; his appetite will be back
