I recently came into a similar situation when a friend no longer wanted her skink. I bought a 40 breeder size tub in Target for $10 and made airholes, cut a hole in the top for the light and was good to go. The lid even locks down! Yesterday I scored a 75g with stand on Craigslist for $50, so now the tub will be my extra!
