It wouldn't matter whether his mother was imported from a "farm" or was wild caught in Indonesia, as long as she gave birth here the babies would be captive born. I think it much more likely that females are unknowingly shipped out gravid than that they would intentionally include tiny babies from a farm --that would pretty much be a guaranteed death sentence as half or more of healthy adults don't survive the ordeal of mass importation.
No way to know for sure though.
Because there's also no way any pet store is going to be honest about the questionable origins of the animals they sell. They will ALWAYS say their reptiles are captive born. Most often they will say they have a breeder that supplies them. But no one has yet to get a name, email, or number to any of these "breeders" to get answers to questions. And I find it very funny that 90% or more of these breeders supply the pet store with the wrong species info for the skinks they breed...
