Hello!
New to the forum, but, excited to learn more from everyone for my future baby bts!
below are some specific food related questions I have. Any help is appreciated! Thank you
Is the goal to have all foods near room temperature ? (for proteins like a raw egg or ground meats, non-leafy greens, and fruit)
How do you measure the 50-40-10 rule with leafy greens? (Example: Should a teaspoon of chopped mixed greens work with a teaspoon of ground lean turkey ? Or do I need more greens based on density/weight of the protein?)
When feeding live insects - how to measure how many needed as a meal, or, should they be seen as treats? Or exercise snacks to chase ?
Thanks again!

I don't bother as my skink basks immediately after eating but if your skink is more shy and hides a lot I would make an attempt to get it to room temp first.GoldenSalmon wrote:Is the goal to have all foods near room temperature ? I go by volume of finely chopped and/or puréed fruit and veg.How do you measure the 50-40-10 rule with leafy greens? (Example: Should a teaspoon of chopped mixed greens work with a teaspoon of ground lean turkey ? Or do I need more greens based on density/weight of the protein?)
I feed as treats and training aids only, usually fed in between main meals when my skink is restless and cruising her cage, I'll drop a couple mealies or crix in for her to hunt or pull her out and let her hunt for them in the family room or practice her "come" commandWhen feeding live insects - how to measure how many needed as a meal, or, should they be seen as treats? Technically should go with mass. Even then it is difficult to approach 1:1 Ca:P ratio without added Ca.
If you wait, all that happens is that you get older. M. Andretti
