How do I make sure my skink has no more mites?

Postby xmangotart » Sat Apr 18, 2015 4:01 am

Hi! I made a post last month on how to get rid of mites. Thanks to some very helpful people, the lice shampoo was a solution that worked great on my skink and im currently doing follow up treatmeants and cleanings :D
Also, I recently found out he is caught from the wild so I suspect the mites came with him, not from the bedding. But I put the bedding in the sun anyways just to be sure :)

Anyways, now I just want to make sure my skink REALLY has no more mites, any effective way to tell? (sorry if im really buggy about this, theres no reptile vet where I am so this is the best place to ask)In his baths, i rarely see any mites. There are only a few (like 2 or 3) that come out each bath now but they all sink to the bottom. From what I heard, live mites will float so does this mean he is fine already?
Thanks in advance!
