wild caught baby?

Maybe I'm looking too far into my pet and his conditions but I'm starting to wonder about him (not that anything will change for us either way). As soon as I first held him I knew he was mine even with his deformities from calcium deficiency as a juvenile. The pet store owner told me a young woman was going to college and would not be able to care for him as well as the uramastic (probably spelled that wrong lol) while being in school. After over 6 weeks of watching the other guy still at the pet store and still has not completed shedding his tail I wonder about a lot if things. My Iran Jays has only a couple claws on him total. His front feet look look more like human fingers more than reptile feet. The first pic in the intro to this forum shows the front foot looking exactly like my Quazy. Now I'm learning that I may have bought him with him possibly already having some type of mouth rot. I love the little guy and want what's best for him but wonder if I'm over my head here and need to step it up a bit in order for him to have a good quality of life. Any ideas? Surely there is some way to turn his little life around. He is said to be approximately 18 months old when we got him about 8 weeks ago. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Not sure what your asking?

The title says "Wild caught baby ? " and considering there are just a few IJ breeders it is more than likely your guy was imported from Indonesia, likely as a baby

However, his poor condition is more likely due from improper care and/or neglect in captivity and not from being recently brought over.

Stuck sheds are from a lack of humidity which is not in short supply in the IJ native country and MBD/kinking is from a vitamin D deficiency again, not a disease found in wild skinks that get to bask in sunlight all day

That pretty much answers my question. We thought he had just had a neglectful owner prior to the pet store we got him from. We know geckos can loose toes with shedding and thought that was what happened to our guy. As my husband said, he only hasa few claws on his back legs and his front toes look almost nubby. The calcium defecency is under control now and he is well fed and cared for. The reason he asked was because as he was reading the basic care sheet and it made him look at our Quazi again because he looked alot like one of the wild caught pictures he saw. Is there anything special we need to do with him if he is wild caught?

I'd have a vet check his stool for parasites especially since you mentioned he also had the runs

It doesn't need to be a reptile specialist as intestinal worm eggs and protozoa pretty much all look the same

Thank you. I will do that for sure. We need to get him established with a vet anyway, just in case of emergencies.
