Can anybody identify the breed of blue tongue?
I'm looking to buy a blue tongue for the first time. My local reptile shop thinks he may be Northern or Merauke, I've also heard Tanimbar. My preference for a skink would be Northern.

Yes, most people here can. Just post a picture.

Tough one. Looks somewhere between Irian jaya and a meruake. 100% not a northern. You almost never see northerns in pet stores. I'm leaning towards Irian jaya.

Well, it's not a Northern I can tell you that much. Something Indonesian, looks IJ to me, too.
I just love when pet shops have no clue what they are selling. Whatever you do, don't ask the pet shop how to care for him, look on this site. If they don't know what it is, they will probably steer you wrong. Very cute little guy, I might add!

I agree - not a Northern
Northerns are all CCB and there are usually waiting list so I recommend you find a local breeder and wait for babies due to be born in the next few months
