vic alpines have started dropping
couple of fatties out basking so popped in for a closer look, first weed pile lifted and woolah, someones exploded
next weed pile unearthed another
check on the other 2 gravid girls shows two gravid girls,a squiz at the maybes shows two still maybes, interesting, possably born yesterday as no sign of post birth shed and it was hot but an afternoon cold front came over, and todays a sultry 19 degrees celcius, lol
best check in the lowlands cage as babies can sneak between the division seperating them and oops, basking amonst adult water dragons on another weed pile is number 3
these guys are pretty solid babies,or im just used to the tinu scincoides of got this season, will have to weigh them when i get home
oddly i havnt the foggiest at whoms dropped them, which is odd for sizable babies, only one to look like its lost a little condition is a dark one i thought was a male, but even hes still solid,so im puzzled, perhaps one stopped with cold front yesterday and is yet to restart, time will tell, better have a better squiz as there could be more

Re: vic alpines have srarted dropping
thanks guys
lol dave, sultry for melb, wont be long till 19 degrees eill be a scorcher for here, next few days are warming up so hopefully some of the fatties follow suit and pop for me,might have a chance to put some weight back on them before they stop eating
ive possably found the one responsible for this litter, not the dark one that im sure is a male, but a younger one i also was leaning towards male on,its the only one that appears to have lost enough condition recently to be guilty anyways

Re: vic alpines have srarted dropping
43,45 and 47 grams ,so slightly bigger than the biggest from last season which was around 41 gms, smallest last year was low 30s
which is quite hefty to the easterns that all popped out between 12 and 14 gms this season, lol
i should do a comparison pic between them

Re: vic alpines have started dropping
i have a sneaking suspician that this is the culprit for the 3 babies, only one thats dropprd noticable condition,so likrly a suprise litter if thats the case,as i had picked this one as a young male, lol, smaller than its brother which u can see in the pic just, tail noticably fatter than the brothers, especially all the way to the tip of tail, the 4 fat ones im confident on are still looking close, but weathers turned pox here, ive had to rug up in a jumper last few daus type of cold, with single figure over night temps, hopefully warms abit shortly or may have to bring the rest indoors to drop
