So we've had him for a week now. Every day for the first five days he ate between half to one whole teaspoonful of cat food + veg. Yesterday, the sixth day, he wouldn't eat anything until I made him scrambled eggs in the evening and then he only had a tiny bite. So to see if he's pooping we took out all the substrate in his tank and now have him on a towel.This is the seventh day and he still isn't eating. I don't see any poop either since last night, but maybe it's too early to say.
He is otherwise acting normal, if normal is hiding most of the day and running from my hands. I hope he isn't blocked up, what are the signs of blocked gut in skinks? Or is this a normal behaviour and maybe he's just eaten too much the previous days?
Don't know if this is relevant, but he has been a bit scared to bask since getting here, as we are a household of 5 and he hasn't gotten used to people walking by his tank every so often. He isn't scared to be handfed, in fact cat food was what we used to draw him out of hiding, but he'll only get up on his rock when the house is completely quiet.
It's second nature as a longtime bunny mama, unusual poop is always the first sign of sickness. Bunny poop is waay more pleasant to handle though.
